Hi.
My name is Renee Culver and I am the administrative assistant for Intimate
Issues conferences. Thank you for your interest in possibly hosting
a conference. I thought it might be helpful for me to share what
would be involved and then, if you are still interested, you can
email me for an information packet that will answer more specifically some of the
questions you might have.
First, it is important that those who sponsor a
conference understand that prayer is the foundation of everything we
do.
Is your church committed to prayer and would you be willing to
organize a prayer team to pray for the women God will bring, for the
leaders organizing the conference and for us as a teaching team? We
have experienced strong opposition from the enemy as we have spoken
on Intimate Issues—but we have also seen the Spirit of God move in
powerful ways. The need to pray is great!
Second, we ask that the sponsoring church view the
conference as an area-wide ministry.
We ask that the host church partner with at least three other
groups/ churches. We strongly encourage cross cultural and cross
denominational participation. Are you willing to work with other
groups or churches to promote the conference? We ask for a minimum
attendance of 800 women (the average attendance is about 1,200).
Our focus is not “numbers” – we go where God sends us. However,
because we are only able to schedule eight conferences a year, we
are limited in our ability to return to any given location. Because
of this, it is important that women know about the conference when
we are in the area.
You are probably wondering, “What is my church’s
responsibility if we agree to host a conference?” It is our goal
that we are able to come at no financial cost to the church, but we
do ask that the sponsoring church provide:
·
A facility with seating capabilities for 1000 or more people and
sound and video (Power point) capabilities and technicians.
·
A team of women to run the conference (Prayer, promotion, worship,
registration, food, hospitality, book table, etc.)
·
Snacks and a Saturday lunch for each registrant
Intimate Issues provides:
·
A speaking team (Linda Dillow, Lorraine Pintus and Nancy Barton to
lead an afternoon track for singles if desired)
·
Workbooks for each participant
·
Promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, videos, etc.
A contract detailing these responsibilities is
included in the information packet. We generally charge $49 for
early registration and $55 ten days before the conference. Of this
money, a portion is allocated to the host church to pay for the items
mentioned above. The remainder goes to Intimate Issues to pay for
travel, promotional materials, speaking fees, etc. It is our
desire to come to your area at no out of pocket expenses for the
hosting churches.
I know this letter does not answer all your
questions, but I hope it gives you enough information to decide
whether or not you have further interest in hosting a conference. If
you do, I would ask you to email me several paragraphs describing
your church and the vision you have for the women in your area. If
we are of similar mind, I would be most happy to send you an
information packet and talk with you about a possible date.
Please send your email to me at
